This beautiful scrap journal was originally a plain journal that I gave to my dad many years ago; although he attached some folder tabs to some pages, he never did write in the journal.
I don’t care for wide-ruled pages for my own writing, so I decided to turn this into a scrap (I don’t like using “junk”) journal, a good way to incorporate magizine pages, paper scraps and other bits and bobs from my stash.
I removed some pages to make more room for adding pockets, collages and other interesting elements, and the finished journal is still quite bulky. (The spine is 1" wide, and the opening of the journal is about 3")
I covered the original brown faux leather with fabric cut from a blouse that someone gave me, which did not fit. Then I added lace, a ribon and flowers to brightten it up. There are plenty of blank pages for writing or drawing, as well as some added cards and tags. Isn't it beautiful? Who do you know who would love to own this?
